In Georgia, it is illegal to leave the scene of an accident. If you were charged with a hit and run, you may be facing misdemeanor or felony level charges.

Misdemeanor convictions carry fines up to $1,000 and up to one year in jail. If another person is seriously injured or killed in a hit-and-run accident, you will be charged with a felony. If convicted, you could be sentenced to up to five years in prison.
