Many individuals have pulled over to rest after becoming too drowsy or tired to continue driving. While this might simply be an act of safety, unfortunately in some cases, it may also be viewed as suspicious activity. Two individuals have been arrested and are currently facing drug charges after they were recently found sleeping in a car in Georgia.
Authorities claim that a concerned individual recently approached an officer in a parking lot with a report of two individuals who were apparently passed out in a nearby vehicle. Upon approaching the vehicle, the officer apparently knocked on the window and asked for identification. A woman provided her driver’s license, but a man inside the vehicle advised the officer that he didn’t have any identification on him, and instead gave him a name and date of birth.
The officer asserts that the picture associated with the name did not match the man in the car, prompting the officer to request that he step out of the vehicle. As he exited the car, the officer allegedly noticed a bag containing a green leafy substance in his seat. This prompted a search of the vehicle, which allegedly uncovered several bags containing methamphetamine residue, along with various types of drug paraphernalia. Both individuals were arrested shortly thereafter and are facing drug charges in relation to the incident.
