Many individuals have been accused of criminal charges as the result of routine traffic stops. In similar situations, K-9 units often perform open-air searches in an attempt to detect if there are any drugs within the vehicle. According to police, a recently initiated driver’s license checkpoint in Georgia resulted in multiple arrests for drug charges.
The arrests were made following two separate traffic stops at the checkpoint. Police claim that in both cases a K-9 unit indicated that drugs were present within vehicles. They allegedly found small baggies of methamphetamine along with a pipe in the first car, as well as several pipes and methamphetamine in the second vehicle. Three individuals were taken into custody and are facing criminal charges in relation to the event.
