When someone is charged with causing an accident they often need a good defense. However, when those criminal charges include serious charges related to someone’s death, the defendant needs as good a defense as he can get.
This is case for one man who is facing a second-degree manslaughter charge because of an incident that happened near Atlanta on Interstate 85 near the Pleasant Hill Road Bridge. Allegedly, the initial reports stated a tractor-trailer clipped an SUV that had four people in it, including the woman who died. However, after some police investigation, there is no evidence at all that the driver of the tractor-trailer struck the SUV. Rather, the driver of the tractor-trailer may have forced the driver of the SUV into another lane of traffic, where it was hit by a truck. Following that collision, the SUV went on to an embankment, flipped multiple times going over a guardrail and landing on an on-ramp. The incident resulted in a 34-year-old-woman being thrown from her vehicle and dying, while her two children were taken to the hospital.
Whenever a defendant is facing any allegations including felonies, they should always be taken seriously. If found guilty, the defendant could be facing significant prison time or, if nothing else, a criminal history that will likely follow him for the rest of his life. For that reason alone, it is best to seek out assistance immediately to deal with the charges head-on and see if they can be reduced or thrown out entirely. Whatever the defense may be, it is almost always best to make it with the help of an attorney as opposed to trying to go at it alone.
Facing felony charges must be dealt with as swiftly and carefully as possible. Seeking out the proper assistance immediately is usually the best way to do so.
